What is MAOZ?

MAOZ is a faith-based streaming platform built for families who are tired of worrying about what comes on next. It's a place where the curation is the product — where every title has been reviewed by a real person, held to a real standard, and chosen because it belongs.

If you're new here, this is the article to start with. It covers everything: our mission, our values, how the platform works, and why we believe the world needs something like MAOZ.

The Mission: Watch Without Worry

"Watch Without Worry" is more than a tagline. It's a promise.

For most families, streaming is a source of low-grade anxiety. You scroll through endless tiles, read descriptions, check ratings, and still aren't sure what's going to come on. That's not a streaming experience — that's a second job.

MAOZ was built to eliminate that anxiety entirely. When you open MAOZ, you don't need to vet anything. The vetting has already been done — carefully, consistently, and with your family in mind.

A Place of Refuge

The name MAOZ comes from the Hebrew word מָעוֹז — meaning stronghold, refuge, fortress. It appears throughout Scripture to describe a place of safety and strength.

That's exactly what we want MAOZ to be for families. Not just a streaming service, but a refuge — a place where you can rest, knowing the content has already been held to a higher standard. A place where screens become a source of connection rather than conflict.

In a media landscape that often feels hostile to family values, MAOZ is designed to be a stronghold. Somewhere you can always return to.

Why We Built MAOZ

The streaming landscape is enormous. There are thousands of hours of content available at any moment. But "family-friendly" has become a marketing label rather than a meaningful standard.

The major platforms were not built for families. They were built for engagement — for watch time, for autoplay, for recommendation algorithms trained to keep eyes on screens as long as possible. These are legitimate business goals. But they are not the same as family wellbeing.

A platform optimized for engagement will always drift toward content that is slightly more stimulating, slightly more provocative than what came before. For families, that drift is a problem.

MAOZ was built on a different premise: that families deserve a platform where the curation itself is the product. Not an algorithm. Not a recommendation engine. A team of real people, guided by real values, making real decisions about what belongs.

How the Platform Works

MAOZ is a curated streaming platform. That means:

Every title is hand-selected. Nothing appears on MAOZ because an algorithm surfaced it. Every film, documentary, music video, teaching, and devotional has been reviewed by a real person and approved against our content standards.

Consistent standards across every category. "Family-safe" means the same thing on MAOZ whether you're watching a short film, a worship set, or a nature documentary. The standard doesn't shift based on genre or popularity.

Content for every age and stage. MAOZ isn't just for young children. We curate content for toddlers, kids, teenagers, parents, and grandparents — because families watch together, and together is how we want you to experience MAOZ.

No surprises. We know that trust is built over time and broken in a moment. Our commitment is to never give you a reason to second-guess what's on our platform. And when we make a mistake — because every platform does — we'll remove it, not defend it.

The MAOZ Foundation

MAOZ and MAOZ Foundation are two expressions of the same mission. While MAOZ focuses on media, storytelling, and creating faith-centered spaces where families can engage with content they trust, MAOZ Foundation focuses on practical outreach, community support, ministry partnerships, and Kingdom impact.

The Foundation's mission: "To glorify God by strengthening families, protecting the vulnerable, supporting communities in need, and advancing the Gospel through practical outreach, education, and compassionate action."

That work is organized around six pillars: Youth & Next Generation, Worship/Media & Creators, Gospel Outreach, Planning for Parenthood, Community Outreach & Assistance, and Anti-Human Trafficking. Together, they reflect a commitment to the whole person — not just what families watch, but how they live.

Though their roles are different, the mission is the same: helping people find hope, truth, community, and a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. Learn more at maozfoundation.org.

Who MAOZ Is For

MAOZ is for families who want to watch together without worrying about what comes on next. It's for parents who are exhausted by the vigilance that mainstream streaming requires. It's for grandparents who want to share something meaningful with their grandchildren. It's for teenagers who are looking for content that takes their faith seriously.

It's for anyone who believes that what we watch shapes who we become — and who wants a platform that takes that seriously.

Where We Are Now

MAOZ is currently in pre-launch development. The platform is being built, the content library is being curated, and our first cohort of Founding Creators is producing original content for launch.

The waitlist is open. We're using feedback from early sign-ups to shape our priorities — and we read every response. If you haven't joined yet, we'd love to have you.

This is still early. But the mission is clear. And we're grateful you're here for the beginning of it.
